CNI Aviation LLC Wins FAA 2009 Small Business of the Year Award
CNI Aviation LLC (CNIAV) was presented the FAA Small Business of the Year Award for 2009 at the national FAA Small Business Conference and Trade Show held 6/28–7/1, 2010 in Oklahoma City, OK.
The award recognized the outstanding performance of the 53 CNIAV employees supporting FAA's Civil Aeromedical Institute (CAMI) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. The nomination submission said, in part, the following:
"The CNIAV team provided outstanding service within eight areas of the CAMI Aeromedical Certification Division (AMCD). The contractor team provided hotline call center support, scanning and document preparation, quality assurance, mail room operations, and medical case review. This work is in support of approximately 600,000 airmen, one million case files, and 400,000 medical applicants received annually in the AMCD. The CNIAV personnel must perform strict interpretation of medical terminology and coding as well as possess knowledge on use of specific scanning equipment and certification computer applications. Medical standards and applicant status are interpreted and communicated to the flying population with strict protocols for public safety. CNIAV personnel have provided an invaluable service to the ACMD, CAMI, the FAA and the flying public."The award was presented to CNIAV LLC Manager, Terry McKenzie, by James H. Washington, Chief Acquisition Officer of the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) at HQ FAA. CNI leadership in attendance included Windell Gilliam, CEO; Mike Mitchell, EVP/Operations; LaDonna Wilson, Program Manager; Jo Powers, Team Supervisor; and, Chuck Guinn, CNIAV Consultant. The CAMI was represented by the Director, Dr. Melchor Antuñano.

Chickasaw Advisory Services (CAS), LLC was selected by the USDA as the ARS Small Disadvantaged Business Contractor of 2009. Mr. Gayland Osteen, Manager of CAS, LLC credits Mr. Mike Sanford, CAS Program Manager for the USDA Relocation Project in Ames, Iowa. When the USDA could not find a firm willing to move its 62 laboratories due to the risks involved with moving highly sensitive equipment and one-of-a-kind specimens, Mr. Sanford and CAS, LLC readily accepted the work and did an award-winning job!

CNI Administration Services, LLC and CNI Technical Services, LLC were recently showcased in the New Mexico Business Weekly for getting new contracts and expanding services in Albuquerque, NM despite the national economic slowdown.

- CNI continues to grow. CNI has purchased the three-story 65,000-square-foot Saxon building in Norman, OK, which is situated on nearly 12.5 acres.
The purchase also included an additional three acres adjacent to the property near highway 9 in Norman, OK. CNI will occupy a majority of the building to house approximately 200 of its employees once renovations are complete.
Mr. Sanford first came to CNI in 2004 and worked as a full-time consultant on various jobs until 2006 when he became a full-time employee. He manages furniture procurement, delivery and installation projects as well as the Fort Knox Range Support Services and USDA Preventive Maintenance contracts.
